A set of four paintings in various sizes

Images of exulting characters from propaganda art and fairy tales inspired my body of paintings exhibited at Umarell - Hong Kong Arts School / RMIT University Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) graduation show. My works sabotage the one-sidedness of propaganda by distorting their narratives, displacing the propaganda heroes for a new dialogue with the fairies. By appropriating found images and subverting them to construct an exuberant wonderland, I contort the fixity of their beliefs and recreate a narration to reflect the absurdity and ambivalence of their utopian pursuits.
